Woodland Park Schools The Woodland Park School District RE-2 encompasses the northern half of Teller County. This district was established in 1959. Currently there are 3 elementary schools (2 in Woodland Park, 1 in Divide), 1 middle school and 1 high school in the District. Total enrollment is slightly over 3,000. This enrollment size is small enough to insure personal attention for each student yet large enough to provide a wide variety of programs and opportunities. All District schools are located north of Pikes Peak and provide an ideal setting for students to enjoy and learn to appreciate the gift of the beauty of the outdoors. The District operates on a budget in excess of $22,000,000 and employs a staff of 231 licensed and 130 unlicensed educators and support people. Recent testing results from the Colorado Student Assessment Program confirm that Woodland Park RE- 2 students in grades 3-10 scored higher than the state averages in reading, math, writing and science. The educational programs focus on "maintaining a balance between offering traditional instruction in basic skills and providing students the innovative, exciting instruction they will need as they grow up in a dynamic and changing society." Free school bus service is provided in many areas of the District. Divide and Florissant Schools The newest school in the District is Summit Elementary School located at 490 Meadow Park Drive, Divide Colorado. Summit services the children from Divide, Florissant and the nearby rural areas of Teller County. While grades K-5 attend Summit, middle and high school students attend school in Woodland Park.
